Admissions
Asking for help is often the hardest part of the recovery process, which is why our dedicated team is committed to ensuring that all communication with us is as informative and comfortable as possible. Our admissions process is designed to help us understand more about your situation so we can formulate the best course of treatment and therapy for you.
We know that you’ll be feeling vulnerable during this time, and our friendly and helpful admissions staff are here to provide you with all the guidance you need and answer any questions you have regarding addiction treatment and rehab. Our job is to make every aspect of the process as easy as possible by helping you organise your stay.
Our admissions process
1. Initial phone call
2. Pre-admission consultation
3. Admission
On the day of your admission, you will be welcomed by our staff at The Lighthouse clinic, who will help you settle in by showing you around and ensuring you have everything you need for your stay with us. Shortly after your arrival, you will undergo a medical assessment with the doctor. Please remember to bring with you any other medications you are taking. During this assessment, the doctor will prescribe the necessary medications needed for you to begin the detox process.

Our testimonials
What can I bring to rehab?
At Step-by-Step Recovery, our clients’ comfort is important to us. Leaving your familiar environment for several weeks can seem daunting, which is why we encourage you to bring along any appropriate items that might make your stay a little easier. If you’re unclear about whether certain items are permitted, our admissions team will be happy to clarify this for you. We also recommend asking someone to help you pack as you may not be in the best frame of mind to do it alone.
Below is a list of essentials that we recommend you bring along:
- Medications you are taking, prescribed or otherwise
- Money for expenses; this will be kept in our rehab safe for security
- Cigarettes or tobacco you’re a smoker
- Books you may want to read; reading material must be appropriate
- Your mobile phone and the contact details of anyone you may want to speak to during your stay
- Any hospital or appointment letters that will conflict with your time in treatment; we will either arrange for you to attend if it is urgent, or for the appointment to be postponed
- Toiletries- that do not contain alcohol and cannot be inhaled or abused
- Comfortable loose clothing, appropriate for the time of the year.
- Conservative nightwear.
- Gym wear and trainers for yoga and physical activities.
- Comfortable walking shoes and slippers
Family members
Family members are permitted to post or drop off items to you should you need anything, and we can also arrange for you to be taken to a shop.
Transport
You are not required to turn up sober on your arrival. Suddenly stopping alcohol or drugs after prolonged use can be extremely dangerous. With this in mind, it’s not always easy to arrange transport to and from our clinic. We provide a transport service to ensure all clients are brought and returned safely and comfortably.
If you have any questions about our admissions process, please feel free to contact us directly. Our phone lines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with our admissions team on hand to provide you with any additional details you might need.
