Qualifications and experience

I spent several years working in sales in Brighton, where I developed strong communication and people skills. After achieving long-term recovery from addiction over 7 years ago, I discovered a deep passion for supporting others on their own recovery journeys.

Working with addiction

Working with addiction is more than just a job for me—it’s a deeply personal and purposeful path. Having lived through the chaos and isolation that addiction can bring, I understand firsthand the strength it takes to seek change. My experience has taught me that recovery is possible for anyone, and I’m passionate about walking alongside others as they navigate their own journey. Whether it’s offering support, sharing tools, or simply listening without judgment, I strive to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and empowered to heal.

Working at the lighthouse

My role at The Lighthouse allows me to work closely with individuals at various stages of their recovery journey. Having walked my own path to long-term recovery, I bring empathy, understanding, and real-life experience to the support I offer. I feel privileged to be part of such a warm, professional, and dedicated team—where everyone, from the clinical staff to the support workers, plays an essential role in helping people rebuild their lives. Watching clients grow in confidence, reconnect with themselves, and begin to heal is truly inspiring, and it’s what makes this work so meaningful to me.

Hobbies and interests

In my personal time, I love spending time outdoors with family and friends, hiking, camping, and embracing nature whenever I can. Living a programme of recovery remains central to my life, and I’m an active member of Narcotics Anonymous. I’m also proud to have founded of a hiking charity, which supports people in recovery from addiction, mental health challenges, and trauma by connecting them with the healing power of the outdoors. Staying connected, purposeful, and active is a big part of my lifestyle and wellbeing.
