Cathryn Mann

Chef

Qualifications and experience

Cathryn qualified as an RGN and nursed locally in residential homes when her children were small but decided to pursue her culinary skills as it fitted better with her family life.

Working with addiction

Cathryn has previously run her own coffee shop and been the catering manager at a large local secondary school. She has worked for many years within the catering industry and has a wealth of experience throughout the hospitality sector.

Working at the lighthouse

I have now been a member of staff at the Lighthouse clinic for over a year and can honestly say it is one of the most rewarding places I have ever worked. It is great being a part of the team and interacting with the clients. Their meals are a really important part of their recovery process and I facilitate a weekly nutrition workshop to support their understanding. The atmosphere at the Lighthouse is very upbeat and the most rewarding part of my job is to see clients recovering from their addictions and going home looking happy, healthy, and well-fed.

Hobbies and interests

I work part time at the Lighthouse clinic, sharing my job with another chef, so I am able to help look after my three young grand-daughters. I have two small dogs and very much enjoy dog showing, travelling around the country, and meeting new people.
